-Horse Nume BLACK VINTAGE-
Commissioned from Shinki Hikaku, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning, dyeing, and finishing in-house.
Recognized worldwide for its 100% vegetable-tanned pit-tanned leather, based on a history, love, and pride for horse leather.
Inheriting pit-tanned horse nume leather, the most time-consuming tanning method, even in an era where efficiency is prioritized.
Please enjoy the firm yet flexible feel of pit-tanned horse nume, the lustrous polished edges, and the deeper luster that develops with use.

The Art of Dyeing
The complex dyeing process that creates this Black Vintage color involves dyeing the base color a deliberately uneven black without letting the dye penetrate the core of the horse nume, and then dyeing over it with a translucent brownish color.

The Art of Finishing
After applying a thick sheen through glazing, a crumpling process is performed to create wrinkles and a whitish effect.
The crumpling process brings out the rich expressions of the grain surface, which vary depending on the differences in fiber quality in each part of the leather.

Horse Nume Black Vintage, made with the wonderful inherent qualities of horse nume and the unstinting application of techniques from Shinki Hikaku, who have a long history of working with horse leather.
Each item is manufactured one by one, based on our production standards developed to maximize the potential of this horse nume.
