The Art of Dyeing
The base color is dyed a vibrant blue, then a translucent deep blue is dyed over it, and finally, paraffin is impregnated using heat.
This complex three-layer dyeing and finishing process creates the color of this blue vintage.
The Art of Finishing
After achieving a thick luster through glazing, a揉み (rubbing/kneading) process is applied to create a wrinkled and whitish effect. The揉み process allows the variations in the grain surface, due to differences in fiber quality in different areas, to be expressed more richly. Horse Nume Blue Vintage, created with the wonderful inherent qualities of horse nume leather and the unsparing application of Shinki Hikaku's techniques, honed through long years of working with horsehide. Each piece is produced one by one, based on construction standards developed to maximize the potential of this horse nume leather.
