Jacuruxy, belonging to the lizard family.
The oval-shaped dorsal scales running from the head to the back resemble the back of a crocodile.
The belly has a scale pattern similar to other lizards.
Due to its unique pattern, it is also known as the Caiman Lizard.
Mainly inhabiting Brazil and Guyana in South America, Jacuruxy leather has become difficult to obtain.
Jacuruxy leather large enough to produce a long wallet is even rarer.

Commissioned to Shinki Hikaku, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning, dyeing, to finishing in-house.
Recognized worldwide for its history, love, and pride in horse leather, it is 100% vegetable-tanned pit-tanned leather.
Even in modern times where efficiency is prioritized, they continue the pit-tanning of horse leather, which takes the most time.
Please enjoy the firm yet flexible feel, the lustrous edge created by polishing, and the deepening shine with use, all characteristic of pit-tanned horse leather.

The Art of Dyeing
The base color of the horse leather is dyed brown without permeating the core with dye, and then transparent black is dyed over it. This complex dyeing process creates the unique color of Black Vintage.

The Art of Finishing
After glazing to create a thick, glossy finish, it is milled to produce wrinkles and a frosted appearance.
The milling process further enhances the grain surface's expression due to differences in fiber quality across various parts of the leather.

The Horse Nume Black Vintage generously incorporates the wonderful inherent qualities of horse leather and the techniques of Shinki Hikaku, who has a long history of working with horsehide.
Each item is produced according to manufacturing standards meticulously established to maximize the utilization of this horse leather.
