Commissioned from Shinki Hikaku, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning, dyeing, to finishing in-house. Internationally recognized for its history, love, and pride in horse leather, it is 100% vegetable-tanned pit leather. Even in an age prioritizing efficiency, they continue the tradition of pit-tanned horse naked leather, which takes the longest time. Please enjoy the firm yet flexible texture, the shining edges from simple polishing, and the deepening luster with use, all characteristic of pit-tanned horse naked leather.

New Gray Vintage, taking a year to develop

The horse naked leather Gray Vintage was made possible by Shinki Hikaku's exceptional craftsmanship.
Over the course of about a year since the initial prototypes, Shinki Hikaku has addressed and improved all issues found in the sample productions.

・They achieved a tightness in the naked leather fibers suitable for wallets and small items, distinct from finishes used for apparel or bags.
・The adhesion between the grain and flesh sides has increased, resulting in a more compact horse naked leather.

This resulted in an ideal horse naked leather finish with minimal grain lift.

Each item is meticulously crafted to our high standards, aimed at maximizing the potential of this Gray Vintage horse naked leather, which incorporates the wonderful characteristics of horse naked leather and the extensive expertise of Shinki Hikaku, gained through years of working with horsehide.
