Commissioned from Shinki Hikaku, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning, dyeing, and finishing in-house.
Recognized worldwide for its 100% vegetable-tanned pit tanning, based on the history, love, and pride for horse leather.
Even in an age where efficiency is prioritized, we continue to use pit-tanned horse Nume, which takes the longest time to produce.

Masterful Dyeing Technique

The base color is dyed a vibrant blue, then dyed with a translucent dark blue, and finally, paraffin is infused using heat.
This complex three-layer dyeing and finishing process creates the color of this Blue Vintage.

Masterful Finishing Technique
After creating a thick gloss through glazing, a揉み加工 (momi-kako, crumpling/massaging process) is applied to create a wrinkled and whitened appearance.
The揉み加工 (momi-kako) brings out a richer expression on the grain surface due to the differences in fiber quality depending on the area.
