Commissioned to Shinki Hikaku, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning, dyeing, and finishing in-house.
Recognized worldwide, based on a history, love, and pride for horse leather, 100% vegetable tannin pit tanning.
Even in modern times where efficiency is prioritized, they continue the pit tanning of horse leather, which takes the longest time.
Please enjoy the firm elasticity, flexibility, lustrous edges when polished, and the increasing depth of luster as you use the pit-tanned horse leather.

The Artistry of Dyeing Technology
Instead of letting the dye penetrate the core of the horse leather, the base color is intentionally dyed black with an uneven appearance, and then a translucent brown color is applied on top. This complex dyeing process creates the unique black vintage color.

The Artistry of Finishing
After applying a thick luster through glazing, a揉み加工 (crumpling process) is performed to create wrinkles and a whitening effect.
The crumpling process brings out the rich expression of the grain surface, which varies depending on the fiber quality of each part.

We have carefully crafted each item based on our production standards, which aim to maximize the use of the Black Vintage horse leather, a material that combines the wonderful inherent qualities of horse leather with the skilled techniques of Shinki Hikaku, who has a long history of working with horse leather.

-ELEPHANT-
Currently, the elephant leather distributed is from African elephants.
It features large folds and wrinkles that are characteristic of each part, and upon closer inspection, a finely granular, raised grain (epidermis).
The luster increases with use, and the thick elephant leather has a profound presence.
By skiving only the edges diagonally, we have expressed a beautiful edge surface that integrates with the horse leather while making the most of the elephant leather's profound presence.

Originally conceived for attaching a wallet rope, this became a signature eye-catcher for Manifold and an opportunity for many people to discover MANIFOLD.
The Silver Ring features an original silver ring adorned with the nostalgic, commonly known as "Manifold Concho."
