Commissioned to Shinki Hikaku, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning, dyeing, to finishing in-house.
Recognized worldwide for its 100% vegetable-tanned pit-tanned horse leather, based on its history, love, and pride for horse leather.
Even in an age where efficiency is prioritized, it continues the tradition of pit-tanned horse leather, which takes the most time.
Please enjoy the firm yet supple feel, the shiny burnished edges, and the increasing depth of luster with use, all characteristic of pit-tanned horse leather.

The Art of Dyeing Technology
The base color is dyed a vibrant blue, then a translucent, darker blue is dyed over it, and finally, paraffin is infused using heat.
This complex three-layer dyeing and finishing process creates the unique blue vintage color.

The Art of Finishing
After achieving a thick luster through glazing, creasing and whitening are created through a揉み (momi) process.
The momi process brings out the rich expression of the grain surface, which varies depending on the fiber quality of each part.

Horse Nume Blue Vintage, made with the wonderful inherent qualities of horse leather and the extensive techniques of Shinki Hikaku, who have worked with horse leather for a long time.
