Commissioned Shinki Hikaku, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning, dyeing, and finishing in-house.
Recognized worldwide, based on a history, love, and pride for horsehide, this is 100% vegetable-tanned pit-tanned leather.
Even in an age where efficiency is prioritized, we continue to use the pit-tanning method, which takes the longest time, for horse nume leather.
Please enjoy the firm yet flexible texture of pit-tanned horse nume leather, the shiny edges achieved through simple polishing, and the deepening luster as it ages.

Masterful Dyeing Techniques
The base color is intentionally dyed black with an uneven finish without allowing the dye to penetrate the core of the horse nume leather, and then a complex dyeing process with a translucent brown-toned color on top creates the color of this Black Vintage.

Masterful Finishing Techniques
After achieving a thick luster through glazing, a揉み (momi) process is applied to create wrinkles and a frosted appearance.
The momi process allows for a richer expression of the grain surface due to differences in fiber quality across various parts of the hide.

Horse Nume Black Vintage is a product into which the wonderful characteristics of horse nume leather and the techniques of Shinki Hikaku, who have long worked with horsehide, have been generously poured.
We meticulously produce each item based on our manufacturing standards, aiming to maximize the potential of this horse nume leather.
