For the 2026 TEST SAMPLE,
we actively use horse full-grain leather with a wax finish to create a "tea core" effect for the leather,
and dahl plating for the metal parts.

The combination of horse full-grain leather with a "tea core" effect and dahl-plated metal fittings
is named "- GB Specification -" (Germanic Bronze Specification)
and will be developed as such.


Dahl plating is said to derive from the English word "Dark" or from its dark hue, "Darl."
Historically, dahl plating had various color variations and was widely used as a luxurious decorative finish in the Japanese furniture industry from the 1960s to the 1970s.

The manufacturing method involves thinly plating black onto a brass or copper base.
When new, it's not just black; it creates subtle gradations due to color variations and lighting.
The characteristic of dahl plating is that as it is used, the metal parts also develop a "tea core" texture.


Among the various shades of dahl plating,
there is a color called Germanic Bronze.

Horse full-grain leather with a tea-core base, which we began working with in 2025.
A challenge from "vintage feel" to "antique feel."

The tea-core base black continues to evolve.

The -GB specification- was born because we created this horse full-grain leather.
What kind of leather is horse full-grain leather, and how can we maximize its wonderful qualities?
We have learned a great deal in the past few years, including our past experiences.
Even with different tailoring methods, various textures can be created.
Please experience the versatile horse full-grain leather.

Horse full-grain leather by Shinki Hikaku is [delicate yet strong, and versatile].
This contradictory element is the true essence of horse full-grain leather.
The fibers are very fine, and the tensile strength of the grain side far surpasses that of cow full-grain leather.
The changes in expression and texture due to finishing are diverse.
Because it is resistant to tensile strength and flexible, it is a special leather that is also less prone to damage.

[Metal Parts]

The -GB specification- features a brass MORAY concho with dahl plating.
The other side has a dahl-plated German hook.
The zipper is black.
Please enjoy not only the horse full-grain leather but also the dahl-plated tea core.


It won't open when pulled.
It opens easily when the tab is pulled.
We use the second generation of German hooks with this specification.
Transitioned from TENAX to LOXX and still going strong, Made in Germany.

Dahl plating is also applied to the brass bottom studs.
This may be where the aging of dahl plating appears fastest.

We have created a finish that eliminates wrinkles and combines an antique feel with a sense of luxury.

The horse full-grain leather within the puffed-up window frame and the main body horse full-grain leather are the same.
Depending on the tailoring, even the same leather can create completely different expressions, allowing you to feel the difference in texture.

[Tote bag with the functionality of a bag]

The interior lining is black herringbone.
Manihos tote bag overturns the concept of a tote bag as just a pouch
and incorporates the functionality of a bag.

First,
a new mechanism with a divider in the center of the interior.


A hidden pocket with a zipper is provided in the divider.


The side pockets are suspended.
This specification prevents the outline of items placed in the pockets from protruding through the exterior of the bag.

One side is a vertical pocket that can hold a smartphone.


The other side is a horizontal pocket for small items like mobile batteries.
