Commissioned from Shinki Hikaku, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning to dyeing and finishing in-house.
Recognized worldwide for its 100% vegetable-tanned pit tanning, based on a history, love, and pride for horse leather.
Even in modern times where efficiency is prioritized, they continue to use the time-consuming pit tanning for horse nume leather.
Please enjoy the firm yet flexible texture, the shining edges from simple polishing, and the deepening luster with use, all characteristic of pit-tanned horse nume leather.

The Art of Dyeing
Gray Vintage horse nume leather achieved through the outstanding techniques of Shinki Hikaku.
A wonderful color, beyond what was imagined.
This dyeing is so difficult to reproduce that it's uncertain if it can be done again.
We will offer items in small batches until we have used up all of this precious leather.

The Art of Finishing
After achieving a thick luster through glazing, we apply a揉み (momi) process to create wrinkles and a whitening effect.
The揉み process brings out a richer expression on the grain surface due to differences in fiber quality across different parts.

Horse Nume Black Vintage, incorporating the wonderful inherent qualities of horse nume leather and the unsparing techniques of Shinki Hikaku, who have long conversed with horse leather.
Each item is produced according to manufacturing standards established to maximize the potential of this horse nume leather.

-Russell's Viper-
A highly venomous snake of the Viperidae family, like the mamushi and habu, inhabiting the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
Along with the carpet viper, Indian cobra, and krait, Russell's viper is feared as one of the "Big Four" venomous snakes in India.
Terrestrial snakes that prefer relatively dry places such as grasslands and farmlands are characterized by their greatly developed central belly scales.
This leather is very rare due to limited distribution.
