-SMALL CROCODILE-
Representative of crocodile leather
Crocodile with beautifully arranged square (rectangular) scales on the belly is considered the highest quality among crocodile leathers.
It inhabits estuaries and brackish waters where rivers and fresh water mix in Papua New Guinea, Australia, and Indonesia.
It is a species with stronger resistance to saltwater compared to Nile crocodiles.
Small crocodiles have been overhunted, and currently, those from Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia are listed in Appendix II.
Due to their scarcity and frequent trade with luxury brands, they are traded at very high prices.
Please enjoy the plump texture and the finely arranged scale patterns of beautiful bamboo-shaped and round-shaped scales.
The exquisite technique of dyeing (ink dyeing)

The crocodile leather, softened with oil, is soaked in a bath of water and ink and dyed.
By thoroughly controlling the temperature of the bath and performing hand-dyeing by skilled craftsmen,
the unique vintage and wild feel of natural dyes is expressed.
Ink has a poor color fastness, and until now, ink-dyed leather has long faced challenges such as being prone to fading and color transfer.
This time, thanks to the tanner's many years of experience, technical expertise, and exquisite dyeing techniques,
we have succeeded in creating ink-dyed crocodile leather that is less prone to severe fading and color transfer.
The finish has a matte texture, so as you use it, it will develop a gloss and the ink-dyed color will change, allowing you to enjoy the aging process.
-Horse Nume GRAY VINTAGE-
We commissioned Shinki Hikaku, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning to dyeing and finishing in-house.
They use 100% vegetable tannin pit tanning, which is recognized worldwide and based on their history, love, and pride for horse leather.
Even in modern times where efficiency is prioritized, they continue to use pit tanning for horse nude leather, which is the most time-consuming process.
Please enjoy the core firmness, flexibility, shiny edge achieved through simple polishing, and the deepening luster with use, all found in pit-tanned horse nude leather.
New Gray Vintage, a year in the making
Horse Nume Gray Vintage, realized by Shinki Hikaku's exceptional techniques
From last year's prototype, Shinki Hikaku addressed all the issues with the prototype samples over approximately one year.
・The firmness of the nude fibers was finished for wallets and small items, different from finishes for clothing or bags.
・The adhesion between the grain and flesh side increased, resulting in firm horse nude leather.
And the result was ideal horse nude leather with minimal grain lift.

Horse Nume Gray Vintage, created with the wonderful properties of horse Nume and the techniques of Shinki Hikaku, who has conversed with horse leather for a long time.
Each item is produced with the standard of craftsmanship developed to maximize the use of this horse Nume leather.
*Each product made with Gray Vintage will have a unique gray hue and unevenness.
We hope you enjoy this as a characteristic and interesting aspect of this leather.
