-ELEPHANT Sumi-zome (Ink Dye) -

Currently, the elephant leather distributed as leather is from African elephants.
It features characteristic large folds and wrinkles depending on the part, and upon closer inspection, a fine granular, raised grain (epidermis).

This elephant leather has been finished with sumi-zome (ink dye).
For many years, there has been a challenge with sumi (ink) not setting well, leading to easy color fading and dye transfer.

In 2023, thanks to the tanner's many years of experience, technical expertise, and dyeing mastery,
we succeeded in applying sumi-zome to crocodile leather in a way that significantly reduces color fading and dye transfer.

Utilizing that same technology and dyeing mastery, we have now successfully applied sumi-zome to elephant leather.

When crafting with elephant leather,
we perform a process of skiving only the area near the edges diagonally to express a beautiful edge surface integrated with the horse bridle leather, while making the most of the elephant's profound feel.

*Each product made with sumi-zome elephant leather will have different wrinkle patterns, ink dye shades, and unevenness.

- New Horse Bridle Leather Grey Vintage, taking a year to develop -
Horse Bridle Leather Grey Vintage, achieved through Shinki Hikaku's exceptional skill.
From last year's prototypes, after approximately one year, Shinki Hikaku-sama has resolved all the issues found in the prototype samples, resulting in this finished product.

*Each product made with Grey Vintage will have variations in gray shades and unevenness.

- 2024 New Horse Bridle Leather Color: Black -
We are now able to offer a new color, Black, starting with this TEST SAMPLE.
Horse bridle leather has a grain (epidermis) with conflicting elements: tough yet flexible.
I feel it is a special leather that is strong against tension andflexible, making it resistant to scratches.
The finish allows you to experience what leather strength truly means.

For the Silver Ring, we use an original silver ring featuring the nostalgic "Manifold concho."
