-Al (Alligator leather)-

Alligators inhabit North and Central/South America.

Biologically, crocodiles and alligators both belong to the order Crocodilia, but they are classified into different families, Crocodylidae and Alligatoridae, with alligators belonging to the Alligatoridae family.
Alligators have distinct external features compared to crocodiles, such as a much longer body and lower jaw teeth that are not visible from the outside.
In the United States, the alligator population significantly decreased in the 1960s, but it has now increased to over 5 million due to scientific conservation programs.
Under these conservation programs, alligator farmers protect eggs, reducing risks from natural disasters like floods and predation by raccoons and other enemies. A system is in place where 10% of hatched eggs are released into the wild once they grow to 4 feet.
Furthermore, by having farmers and landowners of alligator habitats participate in this program, it promotes land improvement by landowners, leading to an improved environment for flora and fauna.
Alligator leather is globally recognized as a sustainable material.
This is MANIFOLD's first attempt at using this leather.
