Commissioned to Shinki Hikaku, which has the philosophy of managing all processes from tanning, dyeing, and finishing in-house.
Recognized worldwide for its history, love, and pride in horse leather, it is 100% vegetable-tanned pit leather.
Even in modern times where efficiency is prioritized, they continue to use the pit-tanning method, which takes the longest time, for horse nude leather.
Please enjoy the firm yet flexible feel of pit-tanned horse nude leather, its highly polished edges that shine, and the deepening luster as it is used.

The marvel of dyeing technique
The base color is dyed a vivid blue, then dyed with a translucent dark blue, and finally paraffin is permeated using heat.
This complex three-layer dyeing and finishing process creates the "blue vintage" color.

The marvel of finishing technique
After achieving a thick luster through glazing, a揉み (momi) process is applied to create wrinkles and a frosted appearance.
The揉み (momi) process further enhances the expressions of the grain surface due to differences in fiber quality in different parts.

Each item is made one by one based on the standards of craftsmanship we have established to maximize the use of the excellent characteristics of horse nude leather and the techniques of Shinki Hikaku, which has a long history of working with horse leather.

There are over 500 species of sharks worldwide, distributed in tropical and temperate shallow to deep seas.
Over 100 species inhabit the waters around Japan.
Only about 20 of these can be used for leather.
This product uses the Blue Shark.
The beautiful shades of blue are achieved by a "head-rubbing process," where after finishing with blue pigment, the raised parts of the uneven surface are rubbed to naturally darken them.
The three-dimensional and beautiful Shark Blue is created by the handwork of skilled craftsmen.
