Commissioned to Shinki Hikaku, which adheres to the principle of managing all processes from tanning, dyeing, to finishing in-house.
Recognized worldwide for its history, love, and pride in horse leather, it is 100% vegetable-tanned using the pit tanning method.
Even in an era where efficiency is prioritized, the time-consuming pit tanning method for horse Nume leather is preserved.
Please enjoy the firm yet flexible feel of pit-tanned horse Nume leather, the shiny edge surfaces achieved through simple polishing, and the deepening luster with use.

The Art of Dyeing
Without fully permeating the core of the horse Nume leather with dye, the base color is intentionally dyed with an uneven black, and then a translucent brown is applied on top. This complex dyeing process creates the unique color of this Black Vintage.

The Art of Finishing
After achieving a thick luster through glazing, a揉み (momi) process is applied to create wrinkles and a whitening effect.
The揉み process allows the various expressions of the grain, due to differences in fiber quality in each area, to emerge more richly.

Using the wonderful characteristics of horse Nume leather and the techniques of Shinki Hikaku, who have long worked with horsehide, we have created the Horse Nume Black Vintage.
Each item is meticulously crafted according to our established standards, aiming to maximize the potential of this horse Nume leather.


-RING LIZARD-

A type of lizard that inhabits watersides throughout Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and the Malay Peninsula.
Its back is covered with round, granular scales, and it is called a ring mark lizard due to the pattern of alternating rings and dots on its back.
It is considered to be of the highest quality among lizard leathers.
Large individuals can exceed 2 meters in length.
