There are over 500 species of sharks worldwide, distributed from shallow tropical and temperate seas to the deep sea.
Over 100 species inhabit the waters near Japan.
Among them, only about 20 species can be used as leather.
This time, we are using blue shark.
The shark leather, dyed black, has a very elaborate finish where blue pearl color is applied only to the recessed parts of the uneven surface.
This creates a variety of expressions depending on the viewing angle and how the light hits it.
This Pearl Navy, handcrafted by artisans, is a subtle touch of adult playfulness.

Commissioned to Shinki Leather, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning and dyeing to finishing in-house.
World-renowned 100% vegetable tannin pit tanning, based on a history, love, and pride for horse leather.
Even in an era where efficiency is prioritized, they continue to use pit tanning for horse leather, which is the most time-consuming process.
Please enjoy the core firmness, flexibility, beautifully polished edges, and the deepening luster with use, all characteristic of pit-tanned horse leather.

The Exquisite Art of Dyeing
The base color is a vibrant blue, over which a transparent dark blue is dyed, and finally, paraffin is infused using heat.
This complex three-layer dyeing and finishing process creates the blue vintage color.

The Exquisite Art of Finishing
After achieving a thick luster through glazing, a creased and whitened texture is created by crumpling.
Crumpling brings out a richer expression on the grain surface, due to differences in fiber quality in different areas.

Horse Nume Blue Vintage incorporates the wonderful characteristics of horse Nume leather and the extensive techniques of Shinki Leather, who have worked with horse leather for a long time.
Each item is produced one by one, adhering to manufacturing standards established to maximize the utilization of this horse Nume leather.
