we are actively using horsehide with a wax-finished brown core as the base leather,
and dahl plating for the metal parts.

The combination of horsehide with a brown core and dahl-plated metal fittings will be
named and developed as the - GB Specification - (Germanic Bronze Specification).


The origin of dahl plating is said to come from the English word "Dark,"
or from its darkish color "Darl."

Historically, dahl plating had a wide range of color variations
and was widely used as a luxurious decorative finish in the Japanese furniture industry from the 1960s to the 1970s.

In terms of manufacturing, a thin layer of black plating is applied to brass or copper.
When new, the finish is not just black, but creates subtle gradations due to color irregularities and light.
As it is used, the metal parts will also develop the texture of a brown core, which is a characteristic of dahl plating.

Among the various shades of dahl plating,
there is a color name called Germanic Bronze.

I feel that it is a special leather that is resistant to tensile strength and flexible, making it less prone to damage.
