-ELEPHANT Sumizome (Ink Dye) -

African elephants are currently distributed as leather.
It features large folds and wrinkles that are unique to each part, and a finely granular, raised grain (epidermis) when observed closely.

This elephant leather was finished with Sumizome (ink dye).
For many years, there were challenges with ink not fixing well, easily fading, and transferring color.

In 2023, through the tanner's many years of experience, technical expertise, and exquisite dyeing techniques,
they succeeded in applying Sumizome to crocodile leather in a way that minimizes severe fading and color transfer.

Utilizing that same technology and exquisite dyeing technique, they have now successfully applied Sumizome to elephant leather as well.

When producing belts from elephant leather, each piece is bonded together.
By skiving the edge at an angle of approximately 8mm, we are able to preserve the heavy feel of the original elephant leather thickness while creating a beautiful edge surface that is integrated with the natural leather base, which is two steps before the strongest natural leather. This is a time-consuming process.

* For products made with Sumizome elephant leather, each piece will have different wrinkle patterns, ink dye colors, and unevenness.

- MANIFOLD Original Buckle -

A 35mm W-pin brass buckle designed and hand-carved by the "Night Shift Manager" himself.
This buckle is heavily silver-plated.
Enjoy the unique expression created by the thick silver plating and the remaining patina in the rough texture of the sand casting.
