-ELEPHANT Sumizome -

Currently, African elephant leather is the type distributed.
It is characterized by large folds and wrinkles that are distinctive to each part, and upon closer inspection, a fine granular, raised grain (epidermis).

This time, this elephant leather has been finished with Sumizome (ink dyeing).
Ink dyeing has long presented challenges, as the color is difficult to fix, prone to fading, and can easily transfer.

In 2023, thanks to the tanner's many years of experience, technical expertise, and dyeing artistry,
they succeeded in applying Sumizome to crocodile leather in a way that significantly reduces fading and color transfer.

Utilizing this technique and dyeing artistry, they have now successfully applied Sumizome to elephant leather as well.

When producing belts from elephant leather, each piece is laminated.
By skiving the edge extremely thin to about 8mm, we achieve a beautiful edge surface that integrates with the Tochigi Nume base belt, while still retaining the substantial thickness of the original elephant leather. This is a meticulous process.

*Each product made from Sumizome elephant leather will have unique wrinkle patterns, ink dye shades, and unevenness.

- MANIFOLD Original Buckle -

A 30mm single-pin brass buckle designed and sculpted by the "Night Shift Manager" himself.
This buckle is finished with thick silver plating.
Enjoy the unique texture created by the thick silver plating and the remnants of oxidation that remain in the rough sand mold surface.
