we have actively adopted horse leather with a wax-finished brown core for the leather,
and darl plating for the metal parts.

The combination of horse leather with a brown core + darl-plated metal fittings
is named "- GB Specification -" (Germanic Bronze Specification)
and will be developed as such.


The origin of darl plating is said to come from the English word "Dark," or its darkish hue "Darl."

Historically, darl plating had various tonal variations and was widely used as a luxurious decorative finish in the Japanese furniture industry from the 1960s to the 1970s.

In its manufacturing process, a thin layer of black is plated onto a brass or copper base.
When new, it's not just black; subtle gradients emerge due to color variations and light,
and as it's used, the metal parts also develop a brown core-like texture, which is a characteristic of darl plating.


Among the various shades of darl plating,
the color name "Germanic Bronze" exists.

Horse Nume leather by Shinki Hikaku is [Delicate yet strong and versatile].
These contradictory elements are the true essence of horse Nume leather.
The fibers are very fine, and the tensile strength of the grain far surpasses that of cow Nume leather.
The changes in appearance and texture due to finishing are diverse.
I feel it is a special leather that is resistant to scratches because of its strong tensile strength and flexibility.

The -GB specification- uses an original brass ring with darl plating.
The Excella zipper is black.
The combination of the brown core of horse Nume leather and the brown core of darl plating is the [GB specification].

The edges are black, and the stitching uses a charcoal-like color.
