Currently, the elephant leather distributed is from African elephants.
It is characterized by large folds and wrinkles that vary by body part, and upon closer inspection, a fine granular, raised grain surface.
The luster increases with use, and the thick elephant leather possesses a substantial feel.
By skiving the edges only at an angle, we have created a beautiful edge that integrates with the horse nume, while leveraging the substantial feel of elephant leather.

Commissioned from Shinki Hikaku, which adheres to the philosophy of in-house management for all processes from tanning and dyeing to finishing.
This 100% vegetable-tanned pit-tanned leather, recognized globally, is based on their history, affection, and pride for horse leather.
Even in an era where efficiency is prioritized, they continue the pit-tanning of horse nume, which is the most time-consuming process.

New Gray Vintage, a year in the making
Horse Nume Gray vintage, achieved through the outstanding craftsmanship of Shinki Hikaku Co., Ltd.
After approximately one year of prototyping since last year, Shinki Hikaku Co., Ltd. has addressed all the issues found in the prototype samples.

・They were able to achieve a tight grain for wallet and small accessory use, unlike the finish for apparel or bags.
・The adhesion between the grain and flesh sides has increased, resulting in a firm horse nume.

And it resulted in the ideal horse nume finish with minimal grain lift.

Each piece is crafted one by one, adhering to the manufacturing standards developed to maximize the potential of the horse nume Gray Vintage, which benefits from the wonderful qualities of horse nume and the extensive expertise of Shinki Hikaku, a company with a long history of working with horse leather.
