There are over 500 species of sharks worldwide, distributed from shallow to deep waters in tropical and temperate regions around the globe.
Over 100 species inhabit the waters around Japan.
Of these, about 20 species can be used for leather.
This Shark Gray leather is finished with a highly advanced technique where white pigment is applied only to the recessed areas of the surface on a dark gray dyed base. Furthermore, a faint green hue that subtly appears depending on the light and viewing angle gives the entire shark leather an exquisite color and atmosphere.
This color will likely be a one-time only production.

Commissioned Shinki Hikaku, whose philosophy is to manage all processes from tanning to dyeing and finishing in-house.
Recognized worldwide for its history, love, and pride in horsehide, based on 100% vegetable-tanned pit tanning.
Even in an age where efficiency is prioritized, they continue the tradition of pit-tanned horsehide, which takes the longest time.
Please enjoy the firm yet flexible texture, the polished edge that shines brightly, and the deep luster that increases with use, all characteristic of pit-tanned horsehide.

New Gray Vintage, developed over one year

Horse Nume Gray Vintage, realized by the outstanding craftsmanship of Shinki Hikaku.
After approximately one year since last year's prototype, Shinki Hikaku has addressed and improved all issues found in the prototype samples.

・The tightness of the nume fibers was adjusted for wallets and small leather goods, differing from finishes for clothing or bags.
・The adhesion between the grain and flesh sides was increased, resulting in a tighter horsehide.

This resulted in an ideal horsehide finish with minimal grain lift.



The Horse Nume Gray Vintage incorporates the wonderful characteristics of horsehide and the extensive expertise of Shinki Hikaku, who has a long history of working with horse leather.
Each item is meticulously crafted to maximize the potential of this horsehide, adhering to our established manufacturing standards.
